Deux fois plus Pénélope
This month, I invite you to explore the figure of Penelope and its many facets, through a performance in Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer with Naos and HF+ Normandie, as part of the Journées du Matrimoine (heritage viewed from women’s perspectives), and a two-person exhibition in Thaon with Annie Lenoir, supported by the Métamorphoses association.
Penelope, The Weaving of Fate
What if Odysseus were there? What if she were mad?
Alone with a giant ball of yarn, Penelope moves through the different states of waiting: hope, desire, joy, anger, fear and doubt. She weaves, unwinds, unravels and starts again, while a presence seems gradually to take shape around her.
But has Odysseus really returned, or is Penelope imagining him in order to survive his absence?
A dance and textile performance about waiting, memory, and the unsettling space between reality and imagination.

Through dance, thread, material and music, Penelope steps out of Odysseus's shadow to take back the weaving of her own fate.

Two-person exhibition by Annie Lenoir and Léna h. Coms
What if Penelope were not simply the one who waits?
Through paintings, drawings and installations, Annie Lenoir and Léna h. Coms present a two-artist exhibition exploring this mythological figure and what waiting can reveal: absence, desire, the passing of time, but also creation and transformation.
Through graphic works, paintings and installations, the two artists weave a dialogue around Penelope, her repeated gesture, and a form of waiting which, far from being motionless, becomes a space for invention.
Wait, Penelope invites us to look differently at the woman who waits… and to wonder what takes place during this suspended time.
